Hi, I'm Rohan Dahotre, a wildlife illustrator and visual storyteller based in Pune, India.
Inspired by a lifelong fascination with animals and the natural world, I create illustrations that help brands, publishers, and organizations connect people with nature through engaging visual storytelling.
Over the years, I've had the opportunity to collaborate with global brands, publishers, and conservation organizations including Google, Starbucks, Time, BBC, Adobe, Uniqlo, WWF, Snapchat, Scholastic, WHO, Hachette, Target, HarperCollins and many others.
One of the things I enjoy most about illustration is finding the right visual language for each project. My work ranges from bold graphic illustrations and character-driven storytelling to detailed wildlife artwork and editorial imagery. Whether I'm working on a global campaign, an editorial assignment, a conservation initiative, or a product collection, my goal is always the same: to create engaging, colorful, and meaningful imagery that sparks curiosity, celebrates biodiversity, and encourages people to look more closely at the natural world around them. I especially enjoy developing concepts, solving visual problems, and building narratives that bring ideas to life through my illustration.
Today, my work spans publishing, editorial, branding, advertising, licensing, packaging, and conservation campaigns, reaching audiences around the world while celebrating the beauty and diversity of the natural world.
Nature remains at the heart of everything I do. I enjoy visiting wildlife sanctuaries, observing animals in their habitats, photographing birds, and filling sketchbooks with field drawings and ideas gathered along the way. One of my personal dreams is to explore every wildlife sanctuary in India and create illustrated maps celebrating the incredible biodiversity found across the country.
Beyond nature, I draw inspiration from travel, folk art, culture, and history – continually exploring new ways to tell stories and create meaningful connections through illustration.
